Empire unveils world鈥慹xclusive preview of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, in close collaboration with lucasfilm and disney聽

Marking the launch of the first Star Wars film in seven years, two iconic characters take over Empire magazine with a brand-new cover shoot

Empire, the world鈥檚 biggest movie magazine, today reveals an exclusive preview issue featuring Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, the highly anticipated new Star Wars film and the first cinematic release from the franchise since 2019鈥檚 The Rise of Skywalker.

For its May issue (on sale Thursday 12 March), Empire collaborated closely with filmmakers, Lucasfilm and Disney over many months for a photoshoot that is set to thrill Star Wars fans around the globe.

Following three acclaimed seasons of The Mandalorian听辞苍 Disney+, this new feature film brings the iconic characters to the big screen for the very first time. 聽Directed,聽produced聽and co-written聽by Jon Favreau鈥攚ho launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man聽–聽the film marks a major聽return聽to the big screen聽for Star Wars.

Inside the issue, Empire presents world鈥慹xclusive interviews with Favreau; producer, co-writer and new Lucasfilm co鈥慍EO Dave Filoni; and stars Pedro Pascal (the Mandalorian), Sigourney Weaver (Colonel Ward), and Jeremy Allen White (Rotta the Hutt).
