Ant & Dec Set Guinness World Record with World’s Biggest Online Music Quiz in Aid of Cash for Kids

Television duo Ant & Dec have officially made history, setting a new Guinness World Records title for the world’s largest online music quiz, all in support of ԰ Audio’s children’s charity, Cash for Kids.

Broadcast live to thousands of participants across the UK, the record-breaking quiz, powered by PopMaster, brought music lovers together for an unforgettable hour of radio. In a landmark moment, the quiz was simulcast live across ԰ Audio’s national radio brands, including Absolute Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Hits Radio, Jazz FM, KISSTORY and Magic Radio, uniting listeners and players in a shared, nationwide experience.

A world record-breaking number of quizzers played along online, while millions of listeners up and down the country tuned in to their radios to test their knowledge of chart-toppers, classic hits and guilty pleasures.

Individual question rounds were hosted by Gok Wan (Magic Radio), Fleur East (Hits Radio), Marvin Humes (Hits Radio), Joe Elliott (Planet Rock), Dave Berry (Absolute Radio), YolanDa Brown (Jazz FM), Simon Mayo (Greatest Hits Radio), Tyler West & Chloe Burrows (KISS) and Boogie & Arlene (Forth 1). And then the final round saw Greatest Hits Radio’s Ken Bruce host a very special edition of radio’s most loved music quiz, PopMaster.

The attempt was verified by official adjudicators from Guinness World Records, confirming that the event achieved a record-breaking number of simultaneous participants in an online music quiz. The initiative raised vital funds for Cash for Kids, which supports children and young people affected by poverty, illness and neglect.

Speaking after the event, Ant & Dec said:
ANT: “We’re absolutely blown away by the response we’ve had from radio listeners across the UK today! To see so many people come together, have a bit of fun, and support such an important cause is just incredible.”

DEC: “This record belongs to everyone who took part and we want to thank them all for not only quizzing with us but, more importantly, raising money for Cash for Kids.”

The event also featured interactive rounds, surprise celebrity appearances from Sam Thompson, Martin Freeman, Sheridan Smith, Billy Ray Cyrus, Akon, Pete Wicks and Olivia Attwood, and the chance to win incredible prizes from brands including Wickes and HelloFresh, as well as tickets to live events at venues from the Royal Albert Hall to Manchester’s Co-op Live.

Managing Director of Cash for Kids, Sally Aitchison MBE, added:
“This has been an extraordinary achievement. Ant & Dec helped set a world record, they’ve also helped shine a spotlight on the work Cash for Kids do to support disadvantaged children in the UK. The funds raised will make a real difference and we will be opening grant rounds soon to distribute those funds.”

Funds raised from the event will go directly towards supporting local projects and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children across the UK.
